FIRST LEG

The debut season of The Amazing Race Teen Edition started off at the Sri Melur Restaurant where host Yongming signaled the start of the race. Then, the teams immediately read their starting clue, discovering that they had to head to Mc’ Donalds which was situated across the street.

Without any hesitation, all teams ran to Mc’ Donalds in hopes to find their next clue. Wan Jun & Eng Khim got off with an early head start while the rest of the teams trying to catch up from behind. Wan Jun & Eng Khim was the first team to receive their next clue directing them to the bridge which connects SS18 & SS19. Followed closely behind were Matthew & Ryan, Marissa & Zheng Yi, Natalie & Jo Ann and lastly Sheng Ling & Yew Han.

It was a 5 way footrace to the bridge. Teams Wan Jun & Eng Khim, Matthew & Ryan and Marissa & Zheng Yi were the first three teams to claim their clue at the bridge, followed by Sheng Ling & Yew Han and lastly Natalie & Jo Ann. Upon reading the clue given, teams were shocked to discover a Detour. A Detour is a choice between two tasks. In this Detour, teams have to choose either to search the clue around the nearest playground or along the Subang Utama High School area. The teams could obviously be seen breaking off from one another. Wan Jun & Eng Khim, Marissa & Zheng Yi and Sheng Ling & Yew Han opted to head to the nearest playground whereas Matthew & Ryan and Natalie & Jo Ann chose to find along the Subang Utama High School area.

Wan Jun & Eng Khim kept their lead as they were the first team to complete the Detour. Meanwhile, Natalie & Jo Ann had fewer difficulties in finding for the clue at the Subang Utama High School enabling them to gain some lead against the other 3 teams. Sheng Ling & Yew Han and Marissa & Zheng Yi were few minutes behind. Unfortunately for team Matthew & Ryan, they went through a hard time spotting the clue which resulted them to fall at the back of the pack. After completing the Detour, teams were told to claim their next clue behind the pet shop in SS19/6.

Wan Jun & Eng Khim stormed ahead and excitedly received the clue behind the pet shop. They learned that their next clue will be hidden in front of the Cambridge tuition center. Followed closely behind were team Natalie & Jo Ann and Sheng Ling & Yew Han. Marissa & Zheng Yi were unable to find for the pet shop allowing team Matthew & Ryan to overtake them.

In the lead of the pier, Wan Jun & Eng Khim retrieved their clue informing them to head to the nearest optical shop. Natalie & Jo Ann was the second team to arrive at the Cambridge tuition centre followed by Sheng Ling & Yew Han, Matthew & Ryan and lastly Marissa & Zheng Yi. Once at Cambridge, Matthew & Ryan were shocked to know that they have been yielded by Sheng Ling & Yew Han. Despite the yield, Matthew & Ryan were still ahead of Marissa & Zheng Yi, who were currently at last place.

At the optical shop, lead teams, Wan Jun & Eng Khim and Natalie & Jo Ann happily read their next clue directing them to the Pit Stop which was the SS18-SS19 Bridge. As the two teams head to the bridge, Matthew & Ryan were just about to claim their clue at the optical shop. Surprisingly, Sheng Ling & Yew Han failed to spot for the optical shop which was just opposite the Cambridge tuition center. This has enabled Marissa & Zheng Yi to get out of last place.

To their way to the Pit Stop, Wan Jun & Eng Khim kept their tempo rendering them a first place finish while Natalie & Jo Ann came in second. There was another footrace battle between Matthew & Ryan and Marissa & Zheng Yi to the Pit Stop. Matthew & Ryan had the lead but were outrun by Marissa & Zheng Yi resulting them to take forth. However, it was the unfortunate team Sheng Ling & Yew Han who was the last team to check in the Pit Stop. Sheng Ling & Yew Han was the first team ever to be eliminated from The Amazing Race Teen Edition.

SECOND LEG

After a mandatory rest period allowing teams to eat and mingle, Wan Jun & Eng Khim departed the Pit Stop in first at 2:04pm. Opening their clue, the pair discovered a Detour. In this Detour, teams have to make a decision whether to play a game of tic-tac-toe in Mc’ Donalds or to search for shapes of a star at 5 different shops along the Mc’ Donalds street. Wan Jun & Eng Khim decided to take up the tic-tac-toe challenge. Departing in second place at 2:06pm, Natalie & Jo Ann opted to search for the stars. As the remaining two teams departed the pit stop in quick succession, both teams chose to have a game of tic-tac-toe.

Wan Jun & Eng Khim was the first team to complete their Detour and were told that their next clue is situated somewhere along the Lick Hung Chinese Elementary School. Few minutes behind, Natalie & Jo Ann managed to complete the Detour with Matthew & Ryan and Marissa & Zheng Yi chasing behind. The game field was evened out as all teams struggled to search for the clue.

Marissa & Zheng Yi was the first team to spot for the clue directing them to the see-saw in a playground near the block of flats. Wan Jun & Eng Khim and Matthew & Ryan soon managed to find the next clue and joined Marissa & Zheng Yi to the playground, leaving Natalie & Jo Ann behind.

Marissa & Zheng Yi kept the lead as they were the first ones to reach the playground followed by Wan Jun & Eng Khim. Physically weaker team Matthew & Ryan started to fall further behind the lead teams. Once at the playground, teams have to head to the Shell petrol station to receive their next clue. Teams Marissa & Zheng Yi and Wan Jun & Eng Khim continued to lead the pack as they were the first teams to arrive at the petrol station. However, they were unable to search for their clue allowing Matthew & Ryan to catch up. Meanwhile, Natalie & Jo Ann were still struggling to search for the clue in front of the Lick Hung School.

Wan Jun & Eng Khim’s sharp vision paid off as they were the first team to grab the clue at the Shell petrol station. Followed closely behind were Matthew & Ryan and Marissa & Zheng Yi. The teams were flabbergasted as they read their clue instructing them to head to the Pit Stop situated at the bridge connecting SS19 to USJ13. Wan Jun & Eng Khim and Matthew & Ryan both rushed to the SS18-SS19 Bridge without realizing that they were heading towards the wrong bridge. On the other hand, Marissa & Zheng Yi headed somewhere to the eastern side of the SS19/6 area.

After a rocky beginning, Natalie & Jo Ann took the advantage as all the other teams were going to the wrong direction. Meanwhile, Wan Jun & Eng Khim and Matthew & Ryan realized that they were at the wrong bridge forcing both the teams to turn back. As Natalie & Jo Ann were happily heading straight to the Pit Stop, they were overtaken by Wan Jun & Eng Khim in a footrace. On the other side of the street, Marissa & Zheng Yi were seen running towards the Pit Stop in hopes to claim a first place finish. It was Wan Jun & Eng Khim who settled in another first place finish with Natalie & Jo Ann and Marissa & Zheng Yi in second and third place respectively. Matthew & Ryan who were left clueless on the whereabouts of the Pit Stop was the second team to be eliminated from The Amazing Race Teen Edition.

After the demise of Matthew & Ryan in the Race, three teams remain. Who be the first ever winner of The Amazing Race Teen Edition?

THIRD LEG

The third leg of The Amazing Race Teen Edition Season 1 started at the SS19-USJ13 Bridge. Departing the Pit Stop in first place, Wan Jun and Eng Khim read their clue instructing them to the biggest drain in SS19/6. Leaving few seconds later, Natalie & Jo Ann and Marissa & Zheng Yi followed the lead team in the search for the drain. All 3 teams competitively raced to the drain and read their next clue. They were requested to find Yongming, the host at the playground near the block of flats. Marissa & Zheng Yi was the first team to arrive followed by Wan Jun & Eng Khim and lastly Natalie & Jo Ann. All three teams were shocked to find out that this leg was not over. Teams were told to search for an unused bus stop where the clue awaits them.

However, it started raining while the teams were searching for the correct bus stop. This has caused Wan Jun & Eng Khim to head back home without checking in the Pit Stop. Despite the rain, teams Natalie & Jo Ann and Marissa & Zheng Yi continued their hunt for the bus stop. Natalie & Jo Ann accidentally bumped onto the Pit Stop and checked in without completing the Race. It was Marissa & Zheng Yi who fought the rain and claimed their clue at the bus stop directing them to Hock Hin Restaurant, Pit Stop for this leg of the race.

Team Marissa & Zheng Yi was the only team to complete the entire Race rendering them as the winners of The Amazing Race Season 1. Meanwhile, Natalie & Jo Ann were placed second whereas Wan Jun & Eng Khim in third place for not checking in the Pit Stop.
